Coronation of COVID 19 – Is novel corona the only cause of mortality?

While taking prudent measures to prevent the spread of novel corona across our population, we also must ask certain bold and brave scientific questions and must show high level of scientific temperament to answer each of them? 

Our country is run by politicians and hence they know to shed only crocodile tears or like how mangrove plants that exudate the excess salt through pneumatophore; our politicians would then tell us to measure the tears that they shed for us by measuring the salt. 

Science must stay away from politicians, if not, from politics.  Thanks to the politics, most of our government research institutions are engaged ‘hotly’ in ‘research politics’ than true research that really worth anything to science or humanity, let alone it worth the salt.  

When we coronate COVID 19, should we not ask whether the novel corona virus is the single most or the principle etiological agent of high mortality as reported globally. 

The above scientific doubt being raised not to question the measures taken by any country to prevent the spread the virus but only to provoke the scientists in India so that they will refrain from catalysing the fear politics over novel corona through our political establishment.  

The novel corona virus,  so far has not followed un-touchability, caste system, skin colour bias, specific age preference, gender preference, economic preference, preference over terrorist versus law abiding citizen, new born child or why, those who carry the curse of why even after crossing 100 years not dying etc., but it invades whosoever it can and all that the virus needed is contact with the host. 

When the virus is so omniscient in its preference, why only certain age group show high vulnerability?  How come many people show clear signs of COVID 19 and novel corona positivity but gets cured within days but still carry the virus for a while?  

The scientific justification that we offer to coronate novel corona or COVID 19, we needs to question or at least, must look at closely.    

The world running after corona is not seen as pointless exercise.  The real question is, are we chasing corona or corona is chasing us? 

When each of us fights continuously (government and virus), who should brokerage peace? 

Is it not the scientists who should bring corona and our scavenger politics to board for signing a peace accord? 

Shouldn’t the scientist speak truth straight to our rulers and must say that Modi’s lock down model is far more disastrous than the disaster likely to be caused by corona? 

Is India face only corona and no other problems, which America and European countries can boast?   

Can we really prevent the spread of novel corona in India?  Have we mapped all epidemiological factors that favour the spread of the virus?  Have we established how long and where the virus might reside in the infected individual? 

Will the R0 _(naught) factor of novel corona is going to differ among different population and regions in India?  Then how we can adopt ‘fit all’ size model to fight corona? 

The medicos, the scientists and the epidemiologists collectively and or individually, if have advised the Ram Bhakta Modi to go for lock down India, shouldn’t they realize the economic death of India is certainly going to take them also to either heaven or hell? 

Has Modi offered them Noah’s Arc and promised to save them in the event of total economic destruction of India? 

Ram Bhakta Modi likely to know only Lord Ram and not novel corona.  Therefore our medical fraternity must tell Modi not to coronate COVID19, which he might wish to do so because his dear friend Trump has already done.

If Trump has used silver crown means Modi would use golden and diamond crown to coronate COVID 19 to prove he is no less than Trump. 

From June onwards, south west monsoon would set in India.  How the new climatic change is going to impact corona spread?  Is Modi sure that by locking down India till May 3, corona will be eliminated from India? 

People need livelihood, daily and monthly wage and food.  By denying all basic Maslow’s bottom of pyramid, can we empower our people to fight corona?  In fact, we are weakening even the supposedly the strongest population through lock down and denying lively hood. 

Neither India nor Indians will ever recover from the economic disaster Modi has hashed. 

Who knows, the novel corona also might have a bit confused after entering India because of the diversity, health and hygiene awareness, politics over health, poverty, mal-nutrition, disease burden (both communicable and non-communicable), density of population, variation in population, economic and social disparity, living conditions etc., and hence may be undergoing rapid mutation.

Only way corona curve can be flatten or dipped in humorous sense is stop testing for corona virus.  Once the testing is stopped automatically the curve would flatten and dip. 

If over 10000 cases are there in India means, we have to assume several fold higher number than the known figure may be there in India as silent carriers of corona and have skipped the test radar of the government. 

Let us recognize science of SCID mice (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency) phenomena versus wild mice to gather our confidence to deal corona than get scared off by American or European situation. 

In crude scientific sense, novel corona has lots to fear about Indians than Indians about corona.  If at all our dear country has anything to fear about, they are, free falling economy and autocrat – Modi.  S Ranganathan
