Modi made presidential fight against novel corona, acted like Ashvatthama, let us forget corona now, save as many COVID 19 patients

Ashvatthama was the only son of Dronacharya, the teacher of both Pandavas and Kauravas.

During Mahabharat war, Lord Krishna advised Yudhisthira to play a trick with Drona so the Drona is defeated easily.  Accordingly, an elephant called Ashvatthama was killed and then Arjuna shouted he has killed Ashvatthama.   Yudhisthira later confirmed the death of Ashvatthama loudly but the reference of the elephant alone he whispered. 

On hearing the death of elephant Ashvatthama to be his son, Drona went into comatose state and Arjuna killed him.  The son of Drona,  Ashvatthama got very angry and took Brahmastra against Pandavas to settle his revenge.

Brahmastra is considered to be an extremely powerful weapon and should be used only as last option and should not be used in the beginning of war and that was the war ethics prevalent even those days. 

For self-defence, Krishna advised Arjuna to fire his Brahmastra to deal the Brahmastra of Ashvatthama.  Vyasa intervened and asked both Arjuna and Ashvatthama to call back their weapons.  Arjuna knew how to take back the weapon but Ashvatthama doesn’t know and hence he turned his Brahmastra towards the womb of the pregnant Uttara to destroy the entire lineage of Pandavas.  Vyasa as part imparting curse to Ashvattahama for his arrogance and revengeful mind, asked to surrender the germ on his forehead and then Krishna cursed Ashvattahama to remain immortal with pain and agony.

Modi has every reason to get angry with novel corona and hence he waged a war against corona like all global countries. 

When corona started to invade more and more Indians, like Ashvatthama who took Brahmastra to fight corona, Modi too used the weapon called lock down India to eliminate corona. 

Even if corona is so deadly, Brahmastra (shut down India) from March 24 till May 3, 2020 should not have the first option but Modi did not appear to explore any other option but Brahmastra. 

When India started to die due to the effect of his Brahmastra, he realized that he doesn’t know how to call back and by the time novel corona learned about the political map of India, its landscape, diversity, social and economic disparity etc., and started to grow from strength to strength. 

Brahmastra did not work against corona but it worked against millions and millions of Indians, many lost their job, livelihood, savings etc. 

The fight against corona should have been programmed better; intermittent lock down and relaxation should have been adopted and allowed the MSME and other unorganized groups to avail their livelihood.  Modi also should have provided enough gaskets to our economy while fighting against corona.

But Modi made the fight against corona in a presidential style and made fight to look like it is between Modi and corona.  A collective approach should have been employed than giving too much of importance to himself.

When the fight was made to look between Modi and corona, naturally the participation of people went lackadaisical and fear alone prevailed in the fight against corona and not awareness and wholehearted willingness obviously due to the effect of Brahmastra, i.e., loss of livelihood.

At the end, people started to ask Modi whether he was fighting corona or own people by invoking lock down in the beginning it self and will India ever conquer novel corona at all. 

It looks like the lock down has done little harm to corona than to India.  

Modi should not have fought corona war all alone, making it a direct fight between him and Corona.  It should been made to fight corona confidently and enthusiastically. 

Modi used emotional justifications for imposing lock down than reasons about how he is going to repair India of the damages of lock down.  Even during his third speech to announce the extension of lock down till May 3, he spoke in great length and breadth about the emotional side of his concern for India and Indians than how he is going to resurrect Indian economy, how he is going to address the real problems of poor and those working in private concerns, unorganized work force, traders etc.  Modi did not utter a single word about economy but kept his speech consciously revolving around human emotion and sentiments.  

Economic destruction has already happened, millions have lost livelihood, corona is in usurp, lock down has to be ended, how Modi is going to lead India free of corona after May 3, 2020. 

Novel Coronavirus would have known India well by now and if coronavirus decides to strike hard because Modi has lost the battle, will Modi fire another Brahmastra against corona? 

Corona has come to stay here so let us prepare our ground to save COVID 19 patients as much as possible and let us forget novel corona for the time being. 

Modi must leave the responsibility to saving each one’s life to the respective individuals and lock down India is not the measure to prevent the spread of corona in a country like India.  The prolonged lock down, total destruction of economy and loss of livelihood, all have sufficiently sensitized people how to protect their life from corona and hereon let the country prepare how to save COVID 19 patients.  All those going to get infected by corona are not going to turn COVID 19 patients and all those COVID 19 patients are not going to die. 

Therefore Modi should leave the fight against corona to people, certainly the winner will survive at the end and the fate of the loser will go with several forgotten chapters of history.
