What is new about novel coronavirus and COVID 19, have we gone blind and neo-cynical? Science got new opportunity or lost face

Newer and newer scientific details about the novel coronavirus and COVID 19 are getting emerged on daily basis and all such new information are quite shocking not only the medical fraternity and epidemiologists community but also to the entire world.  World has paid too much price to ‘newness’ and have gone far too ‘neophobic’ and ‘neomanic’ and ‘neo-cynical’ towards the virus and has caused holocaust to the economy in the name of waging war against the virus. 

The article of Kalagh Rogers published recently (May 28, 2020) clearly pins every medical and clinical aspects of COVID 19 are common and seen among various other infections as well. 

The shocking shady side of the game is that many common medical conditions seen among people due to wide variety of pathogens were exactly similar in COVID 19 patients also but the medical fraternity has blown their ignorance out of proportion, it look like and as if all those medical or clinical conditions seen among COVID patients were caused only by novel coronavirus. 

Cough, respiratory illness of lungs and airways, strokes, heart failure, loss of smell, confusion, sore, itchy toes are quite common clinical symptoms of influenza and even deadly Ebola infection also known to evoke all such clinical reactions.  Similarly head ache, dizziness and confusion are common with viral pneumonia (Dr. S Andrew Josephson, Chair of Department of Neurology, University of California, San Francisco).

Seasonal influenza is known to cause heart attack and stroke as per a research publication in one of the oldest and highly reputed scientific Journals; New England Journal of Medicine, 2016 entitled “Acute myocardial infarction after laboratory confirmed influenza infection”.

The above pathological details came to light at least two years prior to Novel coronavirus.

Another research paper published in the same year once again show that the risk of heart attack was 6 times higher in people tested for flu and also were also equally at the risk of stroke.  Blood clotting is quite common in flu and even streptococcal infection does induce such clinical condition.  

It is well known that Ebola cause bleeding and haemorrhaging but also causes gastro-intestinal problem- vomiting.   That is how most viral infections are.

Cytokine storm is quite common with many other pathogens that do not even cause severe illness like common flu.  Further cytokine storm known to kill children and adults every day in ICU all over the world (Dr Randy Croan, Paediatrician at University of Alabama at Birmingham, who has authored several books on cytokine storm). 

Even fungal, bacterial and protozoal pathogens do induce cytokine storm.  

WIDE SPECTRUM OF REACTIONS OCCURS DURING VIRAL INFECTIONS BUT WHETHER THE VIRUS REALLY CAUSES ALL SUCH MEDICAL CONDITIONS OR IT IS A MERE IMMUNE RESPONSE OF THE HOST IS NOT CLEARLY ESTABLISHED UNTIL NOW. 

The neurological symptoms like brain fog and dizziness are often caused by the immune response and the viral invasion in different organs like brain etc., are not clearly known. 

Common flu known to cause hypoxia and therefore we cannot coronate novel coronavirus for the above pathological condition. 

Now the question is what is really new or novel with the virus or the pathology?

Have we not gone neo-cynical and developed neo-hysteria towards the virus but we shamelessly accuse novel coronavirus for the problem that we have manufactured to serve us. 

HAS THE WORLD OVER REACTED TOWARDS NOVEL CORONAVIRUS AND COVID 19 LIKE HOW THE WORLD MADE WAR-CRY IN THE YEAR 2000 WITH THE Y2K BUG JOKE? 

Most of the pathological conditions observed so far in COVID 19 patients were very common with any other pathogens or what was seen during common flu infection.  What unusual pathology or extra-ordinary virulence of novel coronavirus we have seen to impose lockdown, quarantine people etc., to eliminate the virus?

Have we not paid too much of price for just the word ‘novel’ and nothing beyond that.  How the world can trust the medical scientists and epidemiologists in future? Wasn’t shear ignorance and inability to comprehend the virus and disease quickly at least at broad level by the so called experts only has caused such a big calamity to global economy? 

In the last 10 or 5 years mortality census during flu season across the world would show how different is coronavirus and whether the new virus has really caused any mortality and if so, is the mortality too high with coronavirus for the world to shiver like Pine tree during severe wind? 

Government of India may still believe the novel coronavirus is like ‘cyanide’ among pathogens and COVID 19 is the most deadly disease ever mankind has encountered. The purpose of the article is not to demean a pathogen or disease or associated mortality but have we not made the entire country to sit and watch nothing but novel coronavirus out of fear than science. 

It would be wise for Modi government to fix oxygen generating bag/pump within every human being and then stich both nostrils and lips so that people would neither spread the virus to others  nor would contract the virus from others.  Oxygen shortage also people may not suffer due to in situ oxygen supply pump.

A gavage tube also can be fixed in the stomach for feeding so that even food is directly sent to stomach free of novel coronavirus and mouth is not even opened. 

After fixing all the above medical equipment’ in every citizen, people may be allowed to move around freely so that no treatment and not loss of livelihood would happen. 

Why our expert medical advisors did not offer such advice to our central government?

We are running after clouds to catch it without realizing the truth that when we go close to clouds, the clouds may not be visible and it would be visible only from a distance.  How much damage we are causing to our economy and livelihood, are we willing to introspect? 

It is ‘some scientists’ and ‘clinicians’ would have gone curious towards novel coronavirus and according to their dictionary the word new may means deadly and hence the whole world has gone mad and perverse due to the influence of such influential scientists?

When will we leave corona and catch our economy? 

From the virological end and also from the disease end nothing new is there with the virus except the prefix ‘novel’.  It looks like whosoever has named the virus – novel coronavirus may want the world to celebrate newness and instead of triggering festivity, would have cleverly used fear.  

Hope Modi will realize soon that he is being fed with half-cooked science made with the ingredients such as fear, ignorance and inability of the so called experts.  We have to forward set our time machine at least 100 years ahead of time only then we can repair the irreparable damages caused by Modi in his first term to our economy.
