Extreme fear of COVID is damn good for high immunity; let us allow natural selection to happen

 

Every life-form on earth has an in-born urge and longing-ness to live healthy, remain immortal and will do everything possible (fight or flee) to achieve the ultimate goal of eternity.  Why even every cell our body also struggles for the same level and goal of permanent existence. 

If we look at the nature and ask how the order, the beauty, the diversity, different types of adaptations and behavioural idiosyncrasies seen among the structure of the nature, in simple language, the father of evolution Charles Darwin has described the above, due to natural selection. 

Natural selection is indeed a very slow process and the near final change may occur after several generations over thousands of years which our present science cannot predict as how long it may take and when to expect the change.  Even the direction of change is also difficult to predict in advance. 

But the theory of natural selection is absolute science and those who show braveness to accept such science would easily also agree that it was not the God who created the world and it was the process of natural selection that was the reason for the present day structure and function of nature; the definition given by Eugene Pleasants Odum, a world renowned American Biologist. 

The science of Typhoid Mary and a few sex workers in Sudan having developed immunity against HIV etc., all tells a different science that exist in our medical world i.e. artificial selection is very much possible due to the interaction between a pathogen and host for disproportionately prolonged time period and such selection merits may not follow the law of time.  Such natural selection can happen instantaneously or immediately or spontaneously but necessarily, in short span of time! 

The possible triggers for artificial selection are acute limitation, necessity and compulsion to accept the given opportunity and they only collectively and or singularly cause artificial selection to take place. 

Let us assume a situation, in a closed pen, a male goat and female sheep are kept and both the animals are injected with sex hormones to induce rut in them.  Naturally they may mate and the possibility consumption also cannot be ruled out.  If we continue the same process for a while, the progenies need not be sexually sterile; a surprise of fertile offspring is also possible. 

The limitation is that the goat has only sheep or vice versa to interact in the pen.  Necessity is that both the animals are induced with hormone to trigger rut.  The opportunity is that both these animals belong to opposite gender although they belong to different species. 

Today COVID hype has created more fear in people than the actual viral infection.  Many people have even started to suspect several unrelated problems also due to COVID. 

Be it print media or visual media or social media, all of them talks only about COVID, number of deaths, lack of treatment facilities, oxygen shortage etc.  Although such hype was opposed by some in order to avoid the creation of unnecessary fear in people but considering the natural selection possibility, the unbound fear of COVID is also good in real sense not only for developing due hygiene measures and preventive steps in people, but also to develop immunity or resistance against COVID without getting infected by the virus. Possibly through the law of natural selection.

The fear will create acute necessity, i.e., the fear of COVID going to kill and people having inherent greed to outwit death; naturally our biological system in toto is likely to develop a necessity to out win COVID.  The biological system is going to work against the virus by allowing the development of certain preventive measures in the system even passively, thanks to the fear of COVID. 

The constant fear mongering over COVID is like creating an artificial selection condition where acute limitation is that, we cannot escape COVID hype if we wants to watch TV or read new paper, it creates fear and that in turn, creates necessity that we should not die and the above given opportunity, our biological system is going to explore to develop resistance or immunity against COVID. 

Active immunity through infection, immunity through vaccination, artificial selection advantage through constant and inescapable exposure of COVID hype by our media houses, Indians are going to develop enormous, bullet proof immunity against not only COVID but also against many other deadly pathogens that might evolve in near future to keep the job of our scientists and medical professionals lucrative. 

India may surpass COVID soon but we must allow all the three processes of immune defence mechanism to develop and the only way is, do not go for lockdown and instead allow people to live freely, do their job, earn the wages and live happily. 

Any forced intervention may give counterproductive result.  Let the virus get washed through us.  Natural and artificial selection mechanism will certainly ensure that enough Indians would survive in India for the future.   Let us not cause economic threat and threat to livelihood and defeat the possibility of invincible, invisible defence people are likely to develop against COVID if they are left free. 

Those who are the best as chosen by the natural selection process will survive and those found unfit will be denuded from terra firma and the process of natural selection is pity-less, regret-less, guilt-less and finally merciless. 

Nature also will reward the best and would punish the worst because nature wants to give its space only to the best.  Let us not fight or debate, whether we are the best or unfit for the nature, let the nature decide. 

Save our economy, employment, education and our country by allowing the virus to pass through us, no lockdown or police brutality.
